An attempt to reconstruct longitudinal sections from a set of thin transverse sections

A new method was presented for constructing longitudinal sections from a set of thin transverse sections (1 µm thick) of teosinte.  By precise alignment and stacking of the sections, a 3D object is constructed which can be seen from any view point.
